20y. Guarantee
Against cracking, pealing or crumbling under proper usage. We give one of the longest and comprehensive guarantees in the industry
All surfaces must be solid and structurally sound, clean, permanently dry and free from dust, grease or other contaminants that can affect adhesion. Existing floors must be free from all wax, silicone, sealers or any other surface substances that can potentially affect bonding.
Always check moisture content of the substrates. For cement based substrates with a moisture content >2 % CM (Carbide Method) but < 4 % CM, and apply liquid damp proofing membrane. Flooring substrate must be adequately protected with vapour barrier from moisture ingress under hydrostatic pressure. New construction concrete must be cured for at least 28 days prior to installation. Dont apply damp proof membranes on top of a wet screed. If moisture levels are above those recommended by the flooring manufacturer but below 4 % CM consult with the flooring supplier (generally 9% ±2%).
Recommended air temperature during installation – between 10°C – 35°C, humidity between 40% and 75%. Do not install if the walls and ceilings of the area are not dry.
If underfloor heating is operational, turn off 24 hours before, and until 7 days after applying the adhesive.
Subfloor must be flat to 3mm over 3 meter, otherwise it will increase the risk of hollow spots under timber overlay.
Application
Apply the adhesive with appropriate force and speed.
Spread the adhesive with the proper notched trowel, apply uniformly on the subfloor. Avoid adhesive pools and excessive adhesive thickness by passing the trowel evenly through the adhesive at a 45 degree angle.
Make sure the wood is positioned on subfloor within the working time of the adhesive.
Minimum 80% of adhesive contact coverage is recommended to achieve proper installation of parquet floor. Place heavy objects to hold the wood firmly in place during the curing time, especially on bowed boards or boards over low spots. It may be necessary to sort out bowed planks before installation.
Installing wood too tight against a wall or other stationary objects will not allow room for normal wood expansion
If you use wedges or some object to hold wood in place while adhesive dries. Remove wedges after initial setting of adhesive (approximately 2 hours) to allow for normal expansion of wood.
If you don’t remove the wedges can cause the wood flooring to buckle or pop off the substrate.
No foot traffic for a minimum of 24 hours. Wait a minimum of 48 hours before sanding and varnishing.
